- Represents the needs of the Dual Credit and early college experiences programs at Equity & Innovation, Teaching & Learning, Curriculum & Instruction and other District and school meetings.
- Represents School District U-46 at all college partner meetings and events.
- Plans and coordinates professional development for in-high school dual credit teachers, school counselors and dual credit administrators during monthly meetings, on district collaboration days and on professional practice days.
- Works to establish district-wide dual credit and early college experience policies, procedures, and curriculum.
- Works with all secondary schools in the recruitment of students into early college experience programs (dual credit, AP, IB, industry certification, etc.).
- On campus and available to meet with all full-time dual credit students at Elgin Community College at a minimum of twice per week. Teaches a Friday course to all full-time dual credit students.
- Manages all full-time dual credit student counseling load including but not limited to monitoring student progress, scheduling, transcript checks, college planning, course planning, college admission, transfer of college courses, SEL and academic support.
- Communicates with dual credit students and families. Conduct family outreach as it pertains to the college and career model and goals which includes scheduling student/family conferences as necessary.
- Coordinates all activities related to college course-taking by high school students, including, but not limited to registration, course withdrawal, and the submission of final grades and their dissemination to students, their parents, and to high school registrars.
- Works with secondary schools to assess and counsel students in early college experience courses based on observations, conversations and test results.
- Works with secondary schools to facilitate college admission/placement testing and interpretation of results.
- Create and maintain student data for full-time and in-high school dual credit programs, which include updated contact information, registration materials, student transcripts, state/AP test results, and signed copies of student/family dual credit expectation sheets (i.e., knowledge and agreement of student expectations and responsibilities within the dual credit program).
- Coordinates dual credit students' targeted intervention needs between the college partner and the high school support systems.
- Meets with in-high school dual credit teachers, counselors and post-secondary leads as a whole group and at their buildings to discuss program needs and/or to support the implementation of programmatic changes and training.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive yearly plan for high school instructors teaching dual credit courses that includes orientation, monthly meetings and classroom visits.
- Collaborates with the Department of Post Secondary Success on all Post Secondary activities, committees, and workshops.
- Works with information services and counselors to develop and implement 4 and 6 year high school and career readiness plans in Infinite Campus and the College and Career platform.
- Develops, implements, and monitors a plan to ensure every secondary site has a robust post-secondary and college-going culture that includes goals, strategic actions aligned to the district strategic plan, implementation indicators, and outcome indicators.
- Helps plan and implement additional dual credit courses at each of the high schools as well as helping to recruit new dual credit teachers.
- Develops, distributes, and prepares an analysis of results of student surveys, National Clearinghouse Data, Post Secondary data and other counseling and Post Secondary information.
- Plan and implement district-wide college and career exploration and recruitment events including evening recruitment and welcome/new student orientation.
- Provide resources and materials to support staff in accomplishing program goals.
- Collects and analyzes data to ensure fair and equitable representation across programs is evident.
- Remains up to date on current and relevant research, best practices, and other pertinent policies that relate to or impact efforts related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
- Serves as a communication liaison for the Department of Equity and Innovation with school sites and staff members.
- Participates, as necessary, on Continuous Improvement Team/Leadership Teams.
- Communicate regularly with various internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain a positive school/community relationship.
- Develop and maintain office/department activities to ensure a high-quality operation and service level.
- Locate and secure external resources and monitor their use to provide an optimal educational program.

- Professional educator license issued by the state of Illinois with a School Counselor endorsement required.
- Master's degree in related subject from an accredited university.
- School counseling in SD U-46 is preferred.

Function / Position Summary
To organize, support, and guide the functions of all early college experiences including the dual credit programs for all schools in the district and with our partner colleges/universities and other associations. To serve as an intermediary between the college partners and School District U-46. Works in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Post Secondary Success to develop systems and coordinate professional development for all in-high school dual credit teachers; oversees the implementation and support of the dual credit program and College and Career platform, supports counselors in their development of four and six year plans for students; supports planning and coordination of AP, IB, Dual-Credit programming and State testing for all secondary schools; and develops, distributes, and collates student surveys. The counselor in this position will also collect data on course enrollment, assist with early college credit and educational pathways development and implementation, track student success and post-graduation (2 years and 4 years out) data.
