    Description
    A Gladwin County manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to join their team. Engineer will be tasked with designing, programming, maintaining, and resolving issues in different PLC-based control systems. This role involves making electrical and control design enhancements to both existing and new equipment.

    Collaboration with a dispersed team of engineers focused on developing thermoforming packaging solutions is a key aspect of this position.

    This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity and compensation is $90K or more depending on experience. Competitive insurance coverage is available as well as 401K with employer contributions, and other benefits.


    Responsibilities:


    Make necessary electrical panel layout drawings, electrical designs, and electrical CAD schematics to ensure the design meets industry and regulatory standards and project requirements.

    Make appropriate calculations, research performance standards, and component selection to ensure design specifications are met.
    Design various sections of equipment to meet required specifications.
    Prepare bills of material and other paperwork per internal standards.
    Attend and participate in design reviews for evaluation of work order requirements to design, and cost implications.
    Design and develop machine logic in PLC, operator interface applications, and program servo motion controls.
    Change drawings in accordance with ECO procedure.
    Check drawings and bills of materials as relates to assigned projects.
    Ensure design considerations, concepts, and software codes are documented.
    Represent design team in work order reviews and final design reviews as required.
    Start-up and debug machine before shipment.
    Assists in field start-up and solving machine problems in the field.
    Direct various design activities on assigned projects.
    Review with the design team to ensure quality and internal design practices are being met.
    Travel as required for the role.


    Skills:
    Working knowledge of controls (PLC, HMI, and Motion Controlled Programs)Working knowledge of electrical engineering design practices.
    Excellent written and oral communication skills on a technical level.

    The ideal candidate should possess excellent attention to detail, excel in a team setting, demonstrate effective planning and problem-solving skills, and be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.


    Qualifications:


    A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a minimum of 2 years of work experience in electrical design or a technical role.

    A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States permanently. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
