The Village seeks a fiscally sound and dedicated individual to serve as Deputy Village Treasurer. This is a salaried, full-time, and exempt position.

The Deputy Village Treasurer reports to the Village Treasurer and performs a variety of professional and administrative tasks in municipal finance.

Minimum QualificationsEducation Requirement Possess a bachelors degree in accounting and have two (2) years of progressive experience in accounting; orPossess a bachelors degree in finance, business administration, or public administration, with a minor in accounting, and have two (2) years of progressive experience in accounting; orPossess an associate degree in accounting with four (4) years of progressive accounting experience.

Must be bondable.
Equivalent combination of education, training, licensure, and experience may be considered.
Preferred QualificationsPossess a masters degree in accounting.
Have five (5) years of progressive experience in financing, accounting, and budgeting in the government sector.

Possess advanced Excel, or similar database, skills, including but not limited to creation of pivot tables, queries, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, and SUMIF arrays.

Hold at least one of the following or similar professional financial license or certification:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).Compensation and BenefitsThe hiring salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000, depending on qualifications.

Additionally, the Village offers free individual membership to the Villages Recreation Center and offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid vacation; sick leave; holiday pay; individual life insurance; 100% employer-paid employee health, dental, and vision insurance (employee pays 50% for dependents); and enrollment in IMRF.

Village residency is preferred but not required.
