PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify patient problem and collaborates with the Anesthesia / Surgeon / Perioperative team in the selection of appropriate interventions (tasks).

Service
1. Conducts appropriate pre-anesthetic assessments, and document findings.

In collaboration with the anesthesiologist, determines the appropriate anesthetic plan of management, manages all aspects of anesthesia care to include preoperative, perioperative, and immediate postoperative care.
3. Maintains complete and accurate documentation of care for all procedures.4. Provides airway management and/or intubations for emergent, non-emergent, and resuscitation situations throughout the hospital.
5. Anticipates and exceeds patients and customers' expectations that meet all elements of the Henry Ford Experience.
6. Identifies services and care improvement ideas and act on them to create excellent customer experiences.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Administers intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics to render persons insensible to pain during surgical procedures, obstetrical deliveries, or other medical and dental procedures.
Potentially administers anesthesia to all ages and A.S.A. classes of patients, including geriatrics and pediatrics. Provides airway management services as needed throughout the hospital.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia. Master's degree required. Ability to work harmoniously in collaborative situations with anesthesiologists and other health care providers.
