    Duties


    • Serves as the Security Manager responsible to support the Command Security Manager administering all intelligence-related security programs of the Network Enterprise Center (NEC).
    • Responsible for Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Physical Security (PHYSEC), Industrial Security (INDUSEC), Communications Security (COMSEC), Emanations Security, Counterintelligence (CI) compliance.
    • Advises and represents the NEC Director and Supervisors on all matters related to security.
    • Manages submission of security clearance investigations for all personnel assigned to the NEC.
    • Responsible for conducting security inspections and spot checks, recommending and/or taking appropriate corrective action, and preparing reports of inquiry
    Requirements Conditions of Employment


    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
    • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter
    • Required to submit to random counterintelligence (CI) scope polygraph examination in accordance with and under the provisions of the Department of the Army Cryptographic Access Program (DACAP) and AR
    • May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.
    • Required to possess a valid government vehicle operator license to support unit/activity customer service support requirements.
    • Subject to 2-hour call back for emergency and/or security related issues.
    • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
    • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450.
    • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
    • Two year trial period may be required.
    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation

    Specialized experience is defined as one year of experience performing security investigations/analysis and making recommendations based on security policies/regulations as well as experience in at least one of the following security functions: Physical Security, Information Security or Industrial Security

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09).

    Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled

    Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as International Relations, Foreign Area Studies, Political Science, Geography, Foreign Affairs, International Law, History, Economics, Demography, Engineering, Law, Sociology, Psychology, Military Science, Cartography, Social or Cultural Anthropology, and/or Physical or Chemical Science
