    Position Description:
    Lead the Supplier Quality & Improvement team of the Engine Quality Control department in an automotive manufacturing environment to meet and

    exceed company goals and objectives. Manage functions directly related to part quality and quality assurance of Engine components to ensure conformance to

    specifications.


    Essential Functions:

    • Manage daily priorities to meet departmental and sectional Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
    • Develop strategic engine component part quality control and assurance plans for internal and external customers.
    • Execute and implement the sectional goals and objectives aligned with HMMA and HMC global goals and objectives.
    • Manage new model launch projects.
    • Monitor Engine Warranty data to include: 3 MIS claims, 6 MIS engine changes, and Engine Leak claims.
    • Develop strategies to improve engine warranty claims.
    • Support production to improve process quality.
    • Manage suppliers quality systems.
    • Lead and represent inter-departmental and inter-plants quality improvement activities.
    • Lead/manage problem solving and countermeasure activities.
    • Enforce and maintain company compliance, departmental, and sectional policies and procedures.
    • Develop, train, and retain a high-quality workforce through effective performance management and communication.
    • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management
    System (SMS) requirements.


    • Meet all other assignments as required.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field required.
    • Advanced degree preferred.

    Related Experience:
    * years job related experience preferred.

    • Manufacturing related experience in an engineering discipline desired.

    Skills / Knowledge:

    • MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint

    Additional Information:
    Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
