    Communications Specialist/Dispatcher

    FULL-TIME Opportunity

    Location: New York, New York

    We're hiring Communications Specialists/Dispatchers to join our team at our Greater
    NYC Venues. This team member will coordinate and dispatch EMS and clinical resources at
    major events and venues often while operating in event operation centers and incident
    command posts. In this role the team member will also support the clinical team by delivering
    high-quality patient care and customer service to event guests, venue and event staff to our
    local partners at special events in fixed and temporary venues in and around NYC.


    Responsibilities:
    * Ensures that event activities are aligned with CrowdRx goals and strategic plan.
    * Understands and adequately implements the concepts of Emergency Medical
    Dispatch published in Principles of Emergency Medical Dispatch as a minimum
    standard of care.
    * Properly tracks incidents in the venue's incident management system in a timely
    and clear manner.
    * Operates telecommunications and two-way radio equipment in a clear and timely
    manner.
    * Communicates with other public safety agencies to coordinate additional
    resources or provide incident information.
    * Allocates EMS resources properly as the need arises by application of appropriate
    decision-making rules and approved protocols.
    * Delivers on-site BLS level care in accordance with all applicable medical guidelines
    and protocols.
    * Calmly and professionally responds to calls for emergency medical assistance and
    public safety issues within assigned venue or event area.
    * Coordinates and arranges emergent and non-emergent transport for patients to
    higher level of care.
    * Communicates effectively with venue or event staff and other local officials to
    provide critical information.
    * Utilizes medical equipment and procedures as required to provide appropriate
    and high-quality patient care.
    * Responsible and accountable for completeness and accuracy of paperwork
    related to position prior to completion of shift.
    * Responsible for accurate and complete data entry for the shift.
    * Properly maintains all issued uniforms and response gear and utilize all personal
    protective equipment.
    * Keeps current on all required state certifications / licenses.
    * Monitors and maintains the condition of first aid offices and medical gear,
    ensuring that all supplies and equipment are in-date and in proper working
    order.
    * Follows all policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all established
    report times.
    * Maintains prompt and regular attendance.
    * Communicates public health / safety issues to venue staff and internal
    management.


    MinimumRequired Qualifications:
    * High school diploma or GED required.
    * State Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic credential required.
    * Applicable State certification(s)
    * CPR Certification, healthcare provider, professional rescuer or similar course
    required.
    * Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills on telephone,
    radio, and face to face interaction.
    * Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification (existing or ability to complete
    internal course within 2 months of hire date)
    * 1+ years experience as an EMS provider preferred.
    * Must have telecommunications experience or have at least one year's
    experience as an EMS or public safety dispatcher.
    * Effective customer service skills.
    * Basic computer skills.
    * A working understanding of Special Event Dispatching.
