    SUMMARY:

    The primary responsibility of the Director of Operations is to plan, direct and coordinate the operations of the Long Beach locations.

    This position is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of each segment in the divisional operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordination and Supervision - Coordinate, support, manage and monitor the workings of various managers and departments within the Division
    • Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures
    • Human Resources - Plan the use of human resources. Assist HR to organize the recruitment and placement of required staff, establish organizational structures, delegate tasks and accountabilities, establish work schedules, supervise staff, monitor and evaluate performance
    • Production - Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, manufacturing warehousing, and distribution of goods. Monitor performance and implement improvements. Manage quality of service and quantity of employee productivity. Manage the maintenance of equipment and machinery. Provide technical support where necessary
    • Communication - Facilitate and coordinate effective communication practices between all operational departments. Ensure all departmental employees are actively practicing and improving their communicating skills and closing the loop
    • Third Party Relations : Ensure that standard procedures are followed when third parties are hired to perform labor. Also, the manager needs to ensure that the necessary administrative and legal formalities are completed. Lastly, the manager ensures that the third party properly executes the agreed terms and conditions.
    • Financial – Develop an operational plan based on the strategic plans of the company. Review the division's financial statements and data with executive management. Utilize data to align with the operational budget. Control inventory
    • Strategic Input – Works directly with Regional VP to assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans

    • Guiding, Directing, and Motivating Subordinates Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
    • Training and Teaching Others Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others
    • Communicating with Persons Outside Organization Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail
    • Provide Consultation and Advice to Others Providing guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems-, or process-related topics
    • Coordinating the Work and Activities of Others Getting members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • College degree in business administration or equivalent industry experience or ownership
    • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management
    • Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
    • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
    • Knowledge of project management principles and practices

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    • English. Bilingual a plus
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the responsibilities of this manager's job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use his or her hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms, hands, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and extended time looking a computer screen
    WORK ENVIRONMENT Job duties will be performed primarily in an indoor office setting. May on occasion visit jobsites or other company locations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally exposed to the noise level typical in an office work environment which is usually quiet to moderate
    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS May be required to travel to corporate or outlying locations on occasion. Must have a valid drivers license and insurance that meets the company's requirements at all times
