    As an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, you will contribute to the implementation, and maintenance of programs procedures necessary to ensure the environment, health, and safety performance of the unit.

    You will report to the Senior Manager Manufacturing/Process/Design Engineering and will be seated in the High Point, NC plant.     Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct daily safety and environmental audits and informal walkthroughs on the production floor for general safety questions, ideas, and to ensure compliance.
    • Participate in accident investigation process and weekly action items updates.
    • Participate in reviews of the environmental health and safety procedures.
    • Recommend improvements in process design, procedures, and operating equipment, to minimize EHS impact.
    • Solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established procedures.
    • Responsible for low to moderately complex technical work in multiple environmental, health and safety disciplines under management to achieve compliance with the organizations EH&S standards and with regulatory requirements.
    • Work with operations supervisors to ensure competency and compliance with incidents & action items.
    Qualifications
    • Minimum 1 year of safety and compliance experience in a lab or manufacturing environment
    • 4-year bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, sustainability, environmental science, or other related degree program.
    • Working knowledge of Federal/State regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA)
    • Familiarity with chemical safety and hygiene
