    Laboratory Manager


    to join our crew in Berwick, PA The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for the daily operations of the clinical laboratory including staff leadership, equipment evaluation and function, inventory control, and regulatory compliance.

    KEY RESPONSIBILIES:
    Formulates, plans, and recommends policies and procedures to improve laboratory services.
    Prepares schedules, assigns duties, evaluates personnel, interviews new employees.
    Compiles special reports and studies for long range planning, budgets, QA , etc. as needed.
    Reviews QC and maintenance logs as designated by the Laboratory Director.
    Coordinates any laboratory education, training, and competencies.
    Reviews Critical Values daily when office is open and compiles critical value information for monthly QA.
    Reviews laboratory reports for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.

    Observes the policies of the practice and maintains a clean and safe work environment and performs work safely at all times.

    Produces quality lab results and has few errors.
    Reviews the Laboratory Policy and Procedures Manuals bi- annually and finalizes approval by the Laboratory Director.
    Satisfactory Proficiency Testing scores.
    Accuracy in performing QC/corrective action/failures/documentation.
    Meet collection and turn-around-time expectations.

    Oversees lab testing at CLIA Waived satellite offices to include training, competency, Proficiency testing for the Medical Assistants with oversite of each medical director.

    Approve payroll for lab employees, grant/deny PTO requests.
    Establish clear expectations and manageable workload. Plans the steps required to accomplish objectives, while keeping focus on overall vision.
    Delegates appropriate jobs to appropriate people. Empowers others to work and solve problems on their own.

    Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
    Willingness to travel to satellite locations in the area 2-3 times a month.
    Ability to work independently and within a team.
    Basic computer skills.
    Proficiency in

    Microsoft

    office software and communication tools.
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    Successful completion of background check and drug screen.
    Maintain compliance with all Gloria Gates CARE standards, including Conduct, Compliance, and all other policies and procedures.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


    Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or equivalent bachelor's degree for an accredited college with appropriate training and current ASCP certification.

    6 years of experience in a hospital, medical practice, or independent laboratory testing facility
    1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role
