Description

Regulatory Compliance Specialist at Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield

In this role, the focus will be on providing expertise on a wide range of regulatory requirements and compliance issues impacting the Operations division at Wellmark. Responsibilities will include analyzing, interpreting, and presenting new laws and regulations, as well as offering guidance to ensure Operations' compliance. This involves coordinating the resolution of compliance and audit issues, maintaining narratives, and tracking process control metrics. Additionally, there will be a need to guide business areas within Operations to comply with regulatory standards and drive process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 4 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or Operations
Ability to blend industry knowledge with an understanding of customer needs and strategic business goals
Demonstrated skills in data analysis, interpretation, and problem-solving
Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Additional Information

Identify, monitor, and resolve compliance and audit issues promptly
Act as a liaison between Operations and various departments for project initiatives
Participate in key corporate projects led by different divisions
Report audit findings and compliance updates to Leadership
Develop and monitor compliance plans for the enterprise
Establish and maintain compliance program policies
Support Business Continuity processes for Operations in Iowa and South Dakota
Perform other assigned duties
