- Advance the customer experience in Surgical Services.
- Coach subordinates through feedback, individual development plans, and performance documentation.
- Effectively communicate departmental, organizational, and industry information to staff.
- Facilitate evidence-based employee engagement practices.
- Build strong relationships and networks to deliver organizational and department goals.
- Participate in employee and patient rounding, identifying and mentoring potential future leaders.
- Enforce standards of care for surgical services and develop processes for consistent compliance.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing surgical services program ensuring quality patient care.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies for safety and quality.
- Oversee a Performance Improvement (PI) program that evaluates critical aspects of care.
- Ensure operational excellence by delivering quality services in accordance with policies and standards.
- Enforce safety protocols including exposure control plans and procedural site verification policies.
- Monitor and respond to quality event reporting, supporting new program strategies and enhancements.
- Develop, prioritize, and defend capital equipment requests.
- Manage the fiscal operations of the department, ensuring proper utilization of financial resources.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required; Master's degree preferred in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of leadership experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice.
- Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred.
- Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) certification preferred.

The Director will have 24/7 responsibility for their department, with a case load of approximately 30-35 cases daily, and will focus on effectively managing operations while ensuring an exceptional customer experience in Surgical Services.
