Description
Augustana University invites applications for the position of full-time Visiting Assistant Professor in Physics for the academic year with teaching responsibilities at all levels of undergraduate physics curriculum.
The Augustana Physics Department has about 45 students pursuing degrees in physics and preparing for engineering degrees at several dual-degree partner institutions.
The department has a culture of utilizing active learning in teaching and was recognized by the American Physical Society with the 2017 Improving Undergraduate Physics Education Award.
About 90% of graduates from the department participate in internships or research activities with faculty funded with external grants.Interacting with students, faculty, and leadership with different backgrounds and points of view must be a top value of the candidate.
Successful candidates will have a PhD in physics or a closely related field by the time of appointment. PhD candidates (all but dissertation) are welcome to apply.
