Position Overview
Fat Pat's is looking for a passionate and results-driven General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of service, food quality, and operational excellence that define our brand. The General Manager is responsible for leading a team to achieve success in sales, guest satisfaction, and employee engagement, while ensuring compliance with all operational policies and procedures. This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, problem-solving, and leadership to create a welcoming and efficient environment for both guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Ensure all guests feel welcome and receive exceptional service every time.
- Maintain consistent food quality by upholding our recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
Team Leadership and Development
- Hire, train, and develop staff in all areas, fostering a positive and productive work culture.
- Set performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations to drive team success.
- Actively communicate with employees to ensure alignment with daily operations and resolve any issues professionally and promptly.
Operational Management
- Oversee restaurant operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and vendor relations.
- Create work schedules that balance labor costs and business needs while accommodating staff requests and special events.
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of all equipment and facilities by following preventative maintenance protocols.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations at all times.
Financial Oversight
- Manage budgets and control costs related to labor, food, and supplies.
- Handle cash management, reconciliation, and adherence to company policies for all financial procedures.
Marketing and Community Engagement
- Plan and execute local marketing, promotional events, and advertising campaigns with guidance from ownership.
- Build relationships within the community to enhance the restaurant's reputation and drive guest traffic.
Problem Solving and Support
- Serve as a resource for troubleshooting Point of Sale (POS) system issues and training staff in its use.
- Fill in for any position in the restaurant as needed, from line cook to server, to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of management experience in a full-service restaurant environment.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong knowledge of both front-of-house and kitchen operations.
- ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 45 days) and a State and Local Liquor License (within 30 days).
- Ability to work 50–60 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. The General Manager schedule is based on the needs of the restaurant and the GM's ability to properly lead and organize their team.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other essential duties.
