    Job Summary Coordinates the scheduling of surgeries and related procedures. # Job Responsibilities Schedules appointment times using computerized scheduling programs. May communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities and staff. Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and/or to confirm appointments. Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.

    May be responsible for managing the referral work queue, entering patient demographic information, and scanning documents into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

    May correspond with referring providers and/or patients for reports, information exchange, scheduling, x-rays, and paperwork. May provide administrative support for Physicians or Nurse Practitioners.

    Qualifications High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire No experience required BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

    Works under general supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.

    Job Summary
