    The Environmental Health & Safety Manager (EHS Manager) will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing the Company's safety programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local government laws.

    The EHS Manager will provide training, oversight and monitoring of compliance for local safety coordinators and have "dotted line" authority on safety decisions in every Plibrico location.

    The EHS Manager will work with our Branch Managers, Construction Superintendents, and union laborers to ensure uniform and complete commitments to safe working conditions.

    The position is a highly visible as a reflection of our "Continuous Commitment to a Culture of Safety".


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES


    This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

    Train, motivate, and monitor employees and management in safe practices including: Hazardous Communications, bloodborne pathogens, respirator use, lock-out/tag-out, forklift operation, fire protection, and safe lifting.

    May be required to certify employees on OSHA 10, OHSA 30, and MSHA.

    Work closely with the Construction Offices to ensure project safety and training is in place and prepare safety related input for bid proposals and attend bid meetings when necessary.

    Works collaboratively with all Plibrico locations to ensure required training and reporting is completed on schedule.

    Ensures training programs are reviewed annually to ensure they are current and remain compliant with federal, state and local laws in the United States.

    Partners with Branch Managers and Human Resources to design safety training for all levels of colleagues.
    Administer Personal Protective Equipment programs to ensure proper training, usage, and maintenance.
    Inspects facilities, machinery, equipment, and personnel practices to identify potential safety and health concerns and hazards.
    Oversees injury management in worker compensation matters. Develops and implements accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
    Work closely with outside risk management firms to manage workers compensation claims, costs, and rates.

    Works all applicable government agencies to ensure compliance, timely correction of any issues and to evaluate availability of government training or local programs to enhance safety or reduce workers compensation costs.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelor degree or equivalent experience with a preference for safety or engineering/technical background
    3-5 years' experience in safety related field with exposure to industrial construction sites and heavy industry required
    OSHA 500 Trainer Certificate required
    Current First Aid and CPR certifications
    Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental training with the ability to develop, implement and coordinate comprehensive health and safety accident prevention programs Excellent communication skills both orally and written
    Proven track record of safety management, training, and consistent improvements.
    Proficient computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, or similar products).


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Experience with refractory contracting
    Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) operations and maintenance course
    Knowledge reporting various third-party sites regarding safety stats (Avetta, ISN NET, and SafetyPlus)
    Knowledge of Department Of Transportation (DOT) Compliance
    Knowledge of Mine Safety Heath Administration (MSHA) Training and Compliance
    Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Requirements
