    Hours: full-time (37.5 hours per week)

    Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501

    Position Summary

    The MST Clinical Coordinator will lead a multidisciplinary team providing Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) with youth involved in criminal activity and their families. The Clinical Coordinator's duties include providing leadership, weekly group supervision and training MST team to ensure adherence to MST principles and the MST analytic process. Also provides individual supervision as needed to target clinician competency needs and collaborates with stakeholders.

    Required Education and Experience

    • 60-hour Master's degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field and licensure in the State of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
    • Three years of relevant clinical experience, including at least 2 years of experience working with persons with serious mental illness. Experience must also include at least 1 year of supervisory experience in a mental health setting.
    • Licensed Mental Health Professional in Virginia (LPC, LCP, LCSW, LMFT)
    Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Knowledge of family systems theory and application, social ecological theory and application behavioral therapies theory and application cognitive-behavioral therapy theory and application, pragmatic family therapies theory and application, child development research and its application in treatment, and social skills assessment and intervention; Provide significant clinical experience in treating serious antisocial behavior in youth; Leadership role including hiring, performance evaluation, and holding supervisees accountable for performance; Knowledge of and adherence to existing professional ethical standards; Ability to form and maintain effective counseling relationships with clients to monitor client movement in the therapy process, and terminate the therapeutic relationship in appropriate ways; Knowledge and ability to provide clinical supervision to QMHP-Es, QMHPs, Interns LMHP-Es, and/ or LMHPs; Ability to supervise employees providing direct training when needed; Knowledge of and adherence to agency policies and procedures; Ability to effectively communicate orally, both in person and by telephone; Knowledge of and adherence to licensure regulations related to services provided; Ability to effectively communicate in writing and to prepare written documents; Ability to maintain a consistent and dependable work schedule; Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely and appropriate manner; Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment; Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required; Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to client @other locations. Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites; Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
