    Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital is a new state-of-the-art facility scheduled to open in Spring 2024 in White Hall, AR.

    Operated jointly between Jefferson Regional Medical Center and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, this new 87,000 square foot 76-bed hospital, housing 40 inpatient rehabilitation beds with an additional 36 behavioral health beds, will be located just north of Pine Bluff and south of Little Rock.

    Responsible for supporting the therapeutic milieu under the direction of the RN, by ensuring that the schedule/program is consistently delivered, patients are supervised, that safety is maintained, and patients and guests are treated with respect and dignity

    Job Requirements


    • Responsible for observation and maintenance of safe milieu through patient checks, safety monitoring, etc: completes 15 minute checks, monitors for contraband, evaluates for change in condition, and provides line of sight or one on one care as directed.
    • Adheres to tasks delegated by the RN related to the care of the patients including, but not limited to vital signs, specimen collection, documentation, group education, and patient monitoring.
    • Demonstrates effective milieu management skills, which promote positive patient experiences.
    • Accompanies patients to off unit activities, i.e. meals, outside breaks, off unit visits, out-of-building activities and appointments
    • Responsible for reporting to all changes, medical or psychiatric, to RN.
    • Assists with the admission process to include belongings inventory, visitation to unit, vital signs, and other duties as delegated.
    • Documents property at admission, accounts for property usage during stay and reconciles property at discharge.
    • Comply with the established policy and procedure requiring a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment. (Conducts unit safety checks each shift)
    • Encourages or assists patients to perform activities of daily living.
    • Facilitates or co-facilitates psychoeducational and therapeutic activity groups effectively, using established guidelines and/or prepared and approved information.
    • Employs appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as required and according to policy and procedure.
    • Maintain current knowledge of the program and protocol (policy and procedures) guidelines.
    • Provides assistance in orienting new staff members to their position.
    • Documents in the Medical Record according to established policies.
    • Provides pertinent feedback to the interdisciplinary treatment team regarding patient response to treatment interventions that assists in the development and revision of the treatment plan.
    • Complies with hospital policy, OSHA and CDC guidelines regarding the collection of various specimens.
    • Provides support and assistance with other duties as assigned.
    • Education: High school degree preferred.
    • Experience: Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
    • License: Will require valid driver's license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using personal or hospital owned vehicle.
    • Additional Requirements: CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. Completion of additional age specific training within 30 days of employment as required. Must be at least 21 years of age. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime. Where applicable, must obtain and maintain agency affiliation.


    Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital will provide inpatient rehabilitation services for adults who have experienced a loss of function or disability due to stroke, brain injury, spinal code injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic surgery and other conditions.

    Featuring all private rooms, the rehabilitation section of the hospital will provide intense, interdisciplinary rehabilitation therapies and medical care to improve patients' functional independence and help them return home.

    In addition, Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital's distinct behavioral unit will offer a continuum of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for adults and seniors, including crisis stabilization for acute mental health and substance use disorders; detoxification from alcohol and drugs; and treatment for anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and many other behavioral health illnesses.
