DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital, known for its outstanding emergency services, including a Level I Trauma Center, burn center, and hyperbaric oxygen program is looking for a dedicated Vascular Sonographer to contribute to their patient care services.

Summary Description

This role involves conducting noninvasive peripheral vascular imaging procedures, interpreting and reporting preliminary results to assist in diagnosing vascular diseases in patients across various body parts. As the Vascular Sonographer, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and interpreting vascular studies, participating in research projects, and educating medical students.

Key Responsibilities include:

Performing arterial and venous examinations
Interpreting test results and conferring with physicians
Participating in vascular research studies
Teaching vascular procedures to residents and fellows
Operating and maintaining testing equipment
Participating in quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

1. Associate's degree in science or related field

2. Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist

3. Concentration in peripheral vascular strongly preferred

4. BLS certification required

Skills Required

1. Analytical and clinical skills

2. Mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance

3. Interpersonal skills for patient care environment

4. CPR knowledge

5. Understanding of vascular drugs and pathologies
