    WHAT DOES THE UTILITY ASSOCIATE DO?

    As the Utility Associate, you will ensure our office, warehouse, and parking lot areas are safe, clean, and organized at all times. You will be the primary contact for maintenance issues for your assigned facility and expected to respond quickly. You will be responsible for walking the facility to conduct safety inspections, and to mitigate any issues you discover. You will be expected to proactively look for opportunities to improve the facility and reload supplies. When required, you will assist the logistics team with movement of equipment, and general shipping and receiving support.

    WHAT ARE THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES?

    Facility Maintenance
    • Monitor, clean and maintain all areas of assigned facility, including warehouse/shop, office, yard areas and equipment.
    • Ensure equipment, aisles and other aspects of facility are compliant with fire code regulations.
    • Complete regular safety inspections of shop equipment, chemical storage areas, and other areas as set forth in the IIPP safety program.
    • Keep safety and other inspection forms up to date.
    • Take necessary actions immediately to correct any identified deficiencies.
    • Report immediately any safety or company policy violations to your supervisor.
    • Follow written policies and procedures in the company IIPP Program.
    • Collaborate with the Lean Manager to maintain ASEC guidelines throughout the facilities.
    • Set-up facility for meetings, events, and training, ensuring cleanliness, correct table/chair configuration, and other items as requested.
    • Drive flatbed truck to pick up incoming stock or deliver materials to designated locations as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned or as responsibilities require.
    Logistics
    • Back up logistics team as needed in times of increased volume or short staffing
    • Stage all equipment in the correct location according to ASEC guidelines and company procedures both in and outside the facility.
    • Maintain and organize equipment to be as accessible as possible.
    • Inspect all equipment for cleanliness and proper mechanical function prior to loading, reporting any problems to local supervisor or manager.
    • Complete required paperwork for inbound and outbound shipments accurately and on time, including all necessary photos and documentation.
    • Ensure shipping and receiving logs are up to date at all times.
    • Operate forklift or other machinery as needed to complete tasks.

    Requirements

    WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
    • High School Diploma.
    • Two (2) years of experience working in warehouse /material handling / industrial equipment environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to act in a way that is consistent with our values.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and customers.
    • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
    • Ability to shift priorities in a changing environment.
    • Ability to comfortably sit, stand and maneuver in a variety of industrial equipment.
    • Completion of a background check, DMV record pull and drug screening.
    Desired
    • Forklift Certified.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience driving a flat bed or box truck.
    • Previous experience using Microsoft Office 365.
    Physical
    • Position operates between an office environment and warehouse environments that fluctuate in temperature.
    • Approximately 80% is spent standing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, crawling, or moving about the work areas.
    • Approximately 15% is spent seated at a desk, working at a computer terminal to input data, handle phone calls, and exchange texts.
    • Approximately 5% is spent driving Forklift Trucks and equipment.
    • Must sit/stand/operate a variety of different sized industrial equipment and operate foot controls with repetitive foot movement.
    • Hear with or without correction to be able to interpret and receive information and directions.
    • Communicate, verbally and in written form, regularly to interpret directions from other associates and explain detailed, important, and accurate instructions internally and with vendors.
    • Occasionally lift and/or move material up to 25lbs.
