    Position Summary
    This position reports to and receives general supervision from the Assistant Director/Sr. AV
    Systems Engineer of Academic Computing and Media Services (ACMS) department, who outlines overall work objectives and provides guidance on policy matters.
    The primary focus of this position is to develop and support all AV and computer technologies as assigned and supported by the Academic Computing & Media Services (ACMS) department. Incumbent works closely with ACMS staff to:
    • Provide superior customer service.
    • Diagnose, support, and repair all technologies offered.
    • Provide innovative technologies and services to enhance user experiences and outcomes.
    • Support production events.
    • Maintain the overall operational needs and efficiencies of the ACMS Office.
    • Provide training and general mentorship to the ACMS pool of student workers.

    Principal Accountabilities
    Academic Support (25%):
    • Provide support to faculty on classroom and instructional technology needs.
    • Work closely with the Center for Teaching and Excellence (CTE) to evaluate and manage the successful deployment and utilization of existing and new innovative academic technologies.
    • Supports the University AV requirements for distance learning and provides remote learning technology for students requiring reasonable accommodations for disabilities.
    • Support students in AV equipment circulation services, as well as supporting the use of public printers, digital signage, and academic technologies.

    Technology and Integration Services (25%):

    • Provide 1st level support a wide variety of specialty spaces and technologies, including but not limited to all Teaching and Learning spaces, Conference rooms, Campus Radio Station, Broadcast Tower, TV Studio, Data Visualization Lab, Digital Signage, Event spaces, Financial Market Center, Campus Surveillance Cameras and Infrastructure, Video walls, and Athletic Spaces.
    • Assist with preventive maintenance for AV technologies, including updates to software, hardware, firmware, and other related items to ensure all technologies are correctly maintained, cleaned, and functional.
    • Manage resources remotely utilizing AV management tools.
    • Provide feedback on potential system upgrade needs.
    • Provide essential installation services to upgrade existing and new AV technologies, including system installations, configuration, rack assembly, and more.
    • Maintains awareness of new/emerging audio-visual technologies and industry trends. Can apply this knowledge to our campus systems and services.

    Event and Video Production Services (25%):

    • Assist in coordinating daily/evening AV distributions, setups, strikes, and support services for events and productions.
    • Operate and execute various live-streaming webinars and video productions as needed, including camera operation, recording, mixing, and editing.
    • Ensure proper production techniques and the time segments are recorded to facilitate editing.
    • Perform/or schedule maintenance and repairs on production equipment.

    Operational and Staff Management (25%):

    • Assist in hiring, supervising, training, and managing student workers.
    • Develop and edit departmental documentation regarding system specifications and usage.
    • Provide professional customer service and technical assistance to the Bryant community.
    • Provide user training, support/help documentation on AV equipment use, and best practices.
    • Manage equipment inventory and circulations, including checkouts, repairs, scheduling, and equipment circulation/use reports.
    • Assist in approving AV trouble ticket work orders before assignment to student technical specialists.

    May perform other duties as assigned.

    Physical Capacities
    • This position is best filled by an individual with an undergraduate degree in Technical Theater, Broadcast Communications, Computer Information Systems, or a related area.
    • Certified Technical Specialist (CTS), broadcast or AV integration service experiences preferred.
    • The successful candidate must be fully competent in operating, supporting, and installing AV, broadcasting, computer, and network technologies.
    • Experience with production services, video capturing, web-conferencing, and video editing services preferred.
    • The individual must also be highly detail-oriented, work independently, and possess excellent organizational, customer service, and communication skills.
    • Knowledge of automated inventory tracking systems, MS Office Suite, professional video editing software, professional recording/lighting technologies, and skills with computer/video support required.
    • Experience in working with and supervising student workers is preferred.
    • The successful candidate must be able to work a very flexible schedule. Additional support outside regularly scheduled hours will be required, including mornings, nights, and weekends.
    • Must be accessible by cell phone during business hours, and occasionally off-hours.
    • Required to work off-hours to support major University events, including but not limited to; Commencements, Homecoming, Honorary degree dinner, Philanthropy Dinner and others as determined by management.
    • Ability to present technical concepts to customers in non-technical language.
    • Ability to identify and resolve the root cause of systemic technical or process issues.
    • Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing ladders and stairs; must be able to individually lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with the assistance of others.
