    Discover a Rewarding Opportunity as a High School Dean of Students

    The High School Dean of Students plays a crucial role in shaping a positive school environment while supervising student behavior and fostering a culture of growth and development. By overseeing the Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports committee, implementing behavioral management strategies, and supporting the academic staff, the Dean contributes significantly to student success and well-being.

    Responsibilities of the High School Dean of Students include:

    • Leading the school's efforts in developing responsible student behavior and citizenship
    • Supervising student discipline and implementing behavior management programs
    • Overseeing special education processes for grades 9-12
    • Promoting a positive school climate and engaging with parents and the community

    In addition, the Dean is responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders, including administrative team members, building and community stakeholders, and division administration.

    Qualifications for this Role Include:

    • Master's degree in Education
    • Valid Virginia Department of Education license with a preK-12 Administration and Supervision endorsement
    • Minimum of five years of K-12 school division experience
    • Proven track record in managing student behavior and implementing behavior management programs

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborating with the school's lead administrator to support students at grades 9-12
    • Promoting student achievement through data analysis and stakeholder collaboration
    • Leading a Student Support Team and overseeing the implementation of student support plans
    • Coordinating student disciplinary actions and counseling services
    • Facilitating communication between school stakeholders and community organizations
    • Participating in special education meetings and developing Individualized Education Plans for students
    • Ensuring a safe and orderly school environment through security measures and safety protocols
