    2024 Equity Capital Markets Analyst - St. Petersburg, FL
    Equity Capital Markets (ECM) originates, advises, structures, and executes equity and equity-linked offerings for corporates and financial sponsors.

    ECM sits at the intersection of Raymond James's investment banking advisory business and the Equity Research / Sales & Trading business.

    ECM's activities include IPOs, follow-ons, spin-offs, convertible/derivative strategies as well as other equity-adjacent advisory work around capital structure analysis, and M&A.

    Raymond James has recently served as a bookrunner on some of the largest and most prominent transactions in the U.S., in key sectors of the global economy such as Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence, Single-Family Home Rental Real Estate, Technology-enabled banking, and sustainable healthy living products.

    The Raymond James ECM Analyst Program is a three-year program designed to provide highly motivated recent graduates with a broad range of experience.

    Analysts in ECM participate in the origination and execution of all deal activity.

    Specific responsibilities will include creating materials for pitches and other meetings; analyzing companies, sectors, deal activity, corporate filings, and shareholder data; building relationships with internal and external deal constituents; constructing and managing internal deal and investor-related databases.

    The role will involve communicating and coordinating with members of the broader Raymond James team in Global Equities and Investment Banking, and throughout the rest of the firm.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop client presentations.
    • Execute equity, preferred, and equity liked offerings.
    • Follow Raymond James equity research and provide updates to ECM and Investment Banking.
    • Follow equity and equity linked new issues and keep ECM and Investment Banking informed about timing, pricing, and performance of offerings.
    • Maintain files and group databases related to active and prospective deals.
    • Assist with recruiting and training new Analysts and Interns.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of:

    • Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of Equity Capital Markets & Syndicate.
    • Fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry.
    • Financial markets and products.

    Skill in:

    • Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Superior analytical skills and demonstrated excellence in academic coursework.
    • Problem solving.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.

    Ability to:

    • Gather information, identify linkages and trends, and apply findings to reports.
    • Exacting attention to detail in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
    • Remain cognizant of our commitment to daily workflow and regulatory compliance during high volume activity.
    • Think independently in order to market ideas.

    Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in a related discipline is required. Internship experience in a related field preferred.
