    We are looking for a Registered Nurse.

    Possible Service Locations: Montgomery County, Howard County, and Prince Georges County.

    Benefits:

    JOB SUMMARY:
    • Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, and function as advisor, resource, preceptor and leader for other members of the patient care team. Must consistently continue to meet the requirements and expectations as an RN for two of the six designated patient care groupings.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field. 1-3 years of experience. Maryland Registered Nurse License; American Heart Association CPR Certification; Specialty certification preferred; BLS & ACLS Required - Critical Care/Telemetry; BLS Required (for BHU/OR/Acute Care); ACLS & PALS Required (for ED).

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
    • Proficient in and Adhere to DiscoverU Health Policy and Procedures and COMAR.
    • Support the sales/revenue goals of the agency through effective planning of assessments, the start of care, and supervision of client care, and supervision of direct-care staff.
    • Perform responsibilities with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment within DiscoverU Health, Maryland State Health Department, and COMAR guidelines.
    • Create and maintain client Medication Administration Records (MAR) and teach medication training
    • Perform caregiver delegations for specific nursing services.
    • Safely implement the delegation process, including teaching/instructing, inspection, supervision, and re-evaluation of each caregiver for each task assigned.
    • Develop caregiver-training programs for state-required annual training.
    • Manage client paperwork, maintain client files, enter client information, schedule, and visit notes into the client management system.
    • Responsible for the nursing portion of Orientation Day of new Caregivers and families.
    • Evaluate and monitor caregivers' performance with medication services and nursing tasks.
    • Help maintain positive employee relations to resolve problems and coaching with direct-care staff. Identify and recognize top performers.
    • Assess potential clients and determine appropriateness for our services.
    • Evaluate and monitor clients progress and changes in condition.
    • Must conduct client and caregiver supervisory visits within the time frame established by company policy.
    • Responsible for supervising field personnel delivering caregiving services within the scope of practice, which will ensure that client's needs are met in accordance with professional standards of practice through state guidelines.
    • Be able to coach, mentor, and train-up underperforming direct-care staff to increase performance.
    • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
    • Collaborate with office staff to continually bring safe, effective, and compassionate care to our clients.
    • Collaborate with office staff to continually support and bring good moral to our caregivers* Other duties/projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current license to practice nursing in the State of Maryland.
    • Prefer at least two years of experience providing direct care.
    • Must have a valid Driver's License and well as dependable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance coverage.
    • Professional verbal and written communication skills with clients, caregivers, family members, and interested parties.
    • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
    • Demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills, organized, self-directed, goal-driven, self-starter, detail-orientated, problem solver, and conflict management.
    • Passionate about working with seniors and ensuring they receive the highest quality care.
    • Maintain professional integrity throughout the performance of all job duties, demonstrates the exemplary work ethic.
    • Able to adhere to the practice of confidentiality regarding patients, families, staff, and the organization.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends as needed, requested, or assigned.
