    SUMMARY:


    The Director of Basketball Operations will assist in all day to day activities of the basketball program with a focus on budget management, scheduling, analytics, team community service activities, overseeing the coordination of team travel, purchasing all equipment and apparel, coordinating and managing camps/clinics, coordinating film exchange, coordinating alumni events, and organizing the recruiting database.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Oversee the coordination of all aspects of team travel. Ensure all transportation, lodging, and meal needs are covered for the team and staff.

    This includes traveling with the team to all team competitions and acting as the team liaison for all outside contacts.

    Act as the liaison for men's basketball with all other athletic department personnel including facility management, the business office, communications, marketing, ticket office, compliance, strength & conditioning, the equipment room, and academic support.

    Monitor all aspects of the men's basketball budget.

    Work with the equipment room to purchase all team apparel and equipment.
    Purchase office supplies, audio visual equipment, and other items necessary for program success.
    Operate within the budgets provided for team travel, recruiting and other entertainment.


    Manage the video editing operation by maintaining the film exchange program, managing the volunteer video position, and assisting the coaches with the editing of game film.

    Assist the academic support staff by developing schedules for team functions with student-athlete academic goals in mind. Monitor student-athlete daily schedules to minimize conflicts between academic and athletic pursuits.
    Utilize analytics to provide information for scheduling, the creation of strategic initiatives, and enhancement of student-athlete performance.
    Plan and coordinate all team functions as well as any functions with alumni, donors and/or fans.
    Manage all aspects of the student managers by hiring them, providing continuous training and daily supervision.

    Assist the coaching staff with recruiting organization by maintaining the recruiting database, coordinating recruiting travel and organizing all itineraries for on campus recruiting visits.


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Adherence to all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations is required.
    A thorough knowledge of applicable NCAA rules and regulations is essential.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to perform accurate detail-oriented work, the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population and strong interpersonal skills are required.


    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
    Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
    Individual should have a general understanding of the business of college athletics; coaching experience not necessary but helpful

    WORK HOURS:
    Full-time, exempt position
    Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week
    Requires work on weekends & nights during the basketball season

    SALARY STRUCTURE:
    Pay Grade 5 (Hiring Range $39,083.00 to $51,792.00 annually)
