- Assess the students skills and abilities in oral motor, sensory, integration, motor planning, fine motor skills, developmental function, reflex, and range of motion.
- Create reports that describe the results of the assessments, mentioned above.
- Provide a clear interpretation of the assessment to the parents of the student and IEP teams.
- Consults with the students family and staff on the appropriate implementation of educational programs as they relate to the development of motor skills.
- Monitors the progress of the student and informs the students parents and teachers of progression.
- Participates in the IEPs, to develop and update short-term and long-term goals and objectives.

Your Role: The Occupational Therapist, under the supervision of the Director of Special Education, will provide assessment, consultation, and direct occupational therapy to students enrolled in or referred to special education programs. This role requires knowledge in the intellectual, sensory, and physical development of children, as well as the techniques used during the assessment and treatment of disabilities.
