    Commercial Loan Officer

    Role:


    To interview commercial loan applicants, evaluate applicants' financial status and create loan packages and payment plans within Credit Union policies and guidelines.

    Present and sell commercial loan and deposit products to existing members and prospects.


    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
    Meet with commercial loan applicants to determine and understand their loan and deposit needs. Collects and analyzes financial statements and credit data to determine general credit worthiness. Renders underwriting decisions within approval authority. Generates loan offerings and loan presentations.

    Completes or directs the completion of all loan documents to be prepared in accordance with loan approval and legal requirements.

    Calls on members to expand existing relationships.

    Calls on prospects and attends various community affairs to increase the Credit Union's visibility and to create new business opportunities.

    Monitors existing loan portfolio, maintains up-to-date financials from borrowers and conducts annual reviews and loan renewals.
    Monitors loan repayment activities and takes necessary action for collection on past due loans.
    Performs other job related duties as assigned.


    Performance Measurements:

    • To provide informed professional and accurate service to members and prospects.
    • To produce the loan activity and portfolio growth as set forth in goals and budgets.
    • To produce the deposit activity and portfolio growth as set forth in goals and budgets.
    • To demonstrate business development activities to reach goals and objectives.
    • To ensure approved loans comply with Credit Union policy, procedures and legal regulations.
    • To ensure delinquency ratio and charge off results meet targeted goals.

    Knowledge and Skills:
    Experience
    Two to three years of similar or related experience.

    Education
    Bachelor's degree in finance, business or in a related field.

    Interpersonal Skills
    Work involves extensive personal contact with business owners and stakeholders and is of a confidential nature. Work involves making presentations to business leaders and credit union management.

    Other Skills
    Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to negotiate terms and conditions and influence decision makers and others. Ability to understand financial statements Proficient with MS Office, Excel and Word.
