    The recruitment will remain open until a sufficient qualified applications are received and may close without prior notice. Apply Immediately The Public Safety Dispatcher is an at-will, hourly part-time position. The position works less than 960 hours in a fiscal year.

    Under general supervision, the Public Safety Dispatcher receives 911 system emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatches assignments according to established police procedures, operates various telecommunications center equipment and performs related work as assigned.

    Training and ExperienceAny combination of training and experience that provides the above listed knowledge, skills and abilities may be qualifying.


    A typical way of qualifying would be:
    Equivalent to graduation from high schoolOne (1) year of public safety dispatch experienceMust possess California P.O.S.T.

    Public Safety Dispatcher Basic CertificateTyping speed 35 wpmOther Requirements:
    Must be able to pass a background investigation according to POST GuidelinesUpon conditional offer of employment, selected candidate(s) will be required to pass a physical and psychological evaluation
