    Job Summary

    The Retail Branch Manager is the central point of contact for the Retail Originations team in the branch location. This role is responsible for managing and directing both the sales and operations team.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Responsible for identifying and recruiting new Loan Officers that meet Planet qualifications.
    • Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities. Coaches the mortgage loan officers to achieve required performance levels by establishing a production-oriented sales team. Ensures quality of work completed by the loan officers meets Company customer service standards while adhering to Federal and State guidelines and regulations, and company policies and procedures.
    • Responsible for all lending operational functions including processing, within the branch location. Provides leadership, guidance and support to the operations team. Manages loan pipeline to ensure quality and timely processing of all loan applications. Provides direction to achieve daily and monthly goals.
    • Serves as subject matter expert on all origination functionality. Manages the branch to achieve satisfactory safety, soundness and compliance regulatory examination results. Ensures all loans are originated in compliance with state and federal laws and applicable agency and investor guidelines.
    • Oversees the department's hiring, performance appraisals, salary administration, disciplinary actions and terminations as required. Directs performance/productivity standards of all functions within the originations unit operations while building measurements for statistical analysis.
    • Handles exception items. Resolves complex and escalated items.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Position Requirements

    Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    Experience
    • Minimum five experience in mortgage originations, including a working knowledge of government & agency guidelines.
    • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience
    Functional/Technical Skills
    • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with an emphasis on providing superior customer service. Ability to interact effectively with external and internal clients across departments and locations.
    • Advanced knowledge of all aspects of the mortgage origination process throughout the life of the loan including but not limited to processing, underwriting and closing policies and procedures
    • Comprehensive knowledge of FHA, VA, FHLMC, and/or FNMA, investor and lender programs and procedures
    • Experience in using and/or supporting mortgage origination systems.
    • Ability to coach and mentor a high performing team
    • Strong organizational and project management skills - must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
    • Thorough understanding of credit and an ability to review complex financial documents
    • Uncompromising adherence to ethical principles
    • Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work with others and independently as the situation requires.
