    NPVMC provides the most up to date medical campus in Southeastern Wyoming.

    In addition to a 24-hour emergency room, NPVMC offers advanced imaging including ultrasound, X-Ray, digital mammography, CT, Dexa Scan, and mobile MRI capabilities.

    The CAH features an inpatient pharmacy, laboratory services, and physical/occupational therapy.

    Staffed with both full time physician and mid-level providers, the hospital provides a healthcare solution that services the community and offers convenience to medical services.

    The Town of Saratoga itself offers a family friendly, small-town community nestled between the beautiful Rocky and Sierra Madre Mountains.

    The Platte Valley area is highly known for its breathtaking scenery which offer hiking, camping, blue ribbon fishing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing to name a few.

    Within 20 miles you can be floating down the river, driving up the gorgeous Snowy Range, soaking in our famous natural hot springs, or walking through and exploring the Grand Encampment Museum.

    Job descriptionAssists the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day operations of the Emergency department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations.

    Interprets and communicates policies and procedures to emergency department personnel.
    Monitors staff practices and implementation.
    Participates in daily or weekly management team meetings.
    Assists in evaluating work performance of all emergency department personnel and implements discipline according to operational policies.

    Participates in QAPI or facility assessment activities as needed, such as carrying out duties assigned as part of a performance improvement committee.

    Communicates directly with patients, medical and nursing staff, family members, department heads and members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and services and respond to and resolve complaints and concerns.

    Responsible for 24-hour day-to-day operations of unit: supervision of personnel; staff performance and patient outcomes; staff procurement and retention; regulatory compliance; and patient care.

    Evaluate work performance and conduct annual performance assessments. Delegate and coordinate responsibility for completion of departmental projects, tasks, and activities.
    Participates in the recruitment, hiring and termination of nursing personnel as indicated.

    Participates in the facility's plan of correction response to an inspection survey and implements any follow-up required for nursing allegations.

    Deliver financial results for area (s) of accountability.

    Maintain a collaborative and cooperative working relationship with other departments and divisions; facilitating operational, quality, performance and change initiative implementation.

    Performs rounds to observe patients and ensure nursing needs are being met.
    Promotes safe work practices, safety rules, and accident prevention procedures to prevent employee injury and illness.
    May provide direct nursing care and working required nursing shifts necessary.
    Performs delegated responsibilities by Director of Nursing in their absence.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
    Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
    Must possess leadership, supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
    Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
    Required Qualifications

    Bachelors or Master of Science degree from an accredited school of nursing is required upon hire.

    Minimum of three (3) years as a supervisor in a hospital, or other related health care facilityMinimum of 5 years of Emergency Department related experience is required.

    Work experience which demonstrates progressive leadership responsibility i.e. in Charge Nurse or supervisory role.
    Demonstrate competence in area of expertise.
    Financial and budgetary knowledge and experience is preferred.
