Job SummaryManages Material Planning and inventory control operations for an organization.
Job Duties
Responsible for determining the quantity and availability of materials necessary for master production scheduling.
Translate projected forecasts, incoming volume, and work scopes into a production plan with a time-phased build schedule.
Oversee planning and scheduling activities and provide accurate commitment dates to customer service team across multiple product lines.
Understand capacity management relationship to MRP. Manage work center input and output loading. Resolve differences between workstation loads and available capacity Measure the utilization and efficiency of workstations.
Administer cycle counts to ensure ordering is accurate and fulfill essential needs.
Resolve all inventory related supply issues.
Review trends to improve inventory operations including purchasing, materials, suppliers, and storages.
Support financial cost containment through minimizing inventory loss, root-cause analyses, turnover rates, and space requirements.
Represent the organizations inventory needs when developing or maintaining supplier relationships.
Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.).
Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles
Perform complex tasks typically following established processes
Lead and direct the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions
Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures; may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning and procedural change
Typically require a bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience
An advanced degree may be preferred
