- Job Opportunity:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Mental Health Coordinator provides essential supervision to Mental Health Case Aides, Housekeeping, Dietary, Maintenance Staff, and Volunteers within the designated program. - Responsible for coordinating mental health program service activities, including assessing service needs, delivering required services, making necessary referrals, and maintaining accurate resident documentation.
- Follow and uphold Volunteers of America and Program/Facility Policy and Procedures.
- Demonstrate unwavering support for Volunteers of America principles, policies, and objectives to enhance program quality and outcomes significantly.
- Collaborate effectively as part of the Behavioral Health Team to strategize, develop, and assess service delivery results.
- Meet all contractual obligations related to client case management; ensure consistent adherence to expectations set by regulatory bodies for all client services.
- Promote professionalism and cultivate a positive program image within Volunteers of America programs and the community.
- Communicate efficiently with team members, offering and receiving feedback on service quality to the Program Supervisor.
- Conduct routine checks of Board and Care facilities to enforce compliance with House Rules, Program Policies and Procedures, and Safety Program guidelines.
- Input statistical data from facility records into a computer database.
- Lead Board and Care residential meetings as necessary.
- Prepare various documents such as letters, reports, and forms with accuracy.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the Mental Health Office areas by performing daily office upkeep tasks like dusting, filing, and vacuuming.
- Ensure that client activity spaces are orderly and well-organized for external inspections, including activities, books, and craft materials.
- Answer and screen incoming phone calls, documenting as required while maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in Social Science, Psychology, or equivalent college coursework.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in phone etiquette with a professional demeanor.
- Computer literacy with word processing and spreadsheet software skills for data entry and typing.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and file management capabilities.
- Effective interaction with facility staff, the public, and program participants.
- First Aid/CPR certifications, Food Handler's card, and a valid California Driver's license required.
