    We're pleased to present the opportunity to join Urenco as Manager of Program Management Office for site Capacity Expansion.

    Based at our Capenhurst location, you will provide visible and effective leadership through the PMO, developing a clear vision and champion the use of good practice project management standards and processes.

    A key requirement of this role is to ensure the projects are suitably resourced with experienced and qualified personal which is achieved via proactively managing the function leads reporting to this role.

    Direct Reports:
    Multiple Urenco project teams (up to 80 project support personnel)

    Indirect Reports:
    Multiple project support team members at multiple geographical locations.

    Budgetary responsibility:
    Full accountability to ensure the PMO supports the projects to deliver Urenco's portfolio to their assigned CEP commitments.

    Other dimensions:
    This role has multiple stakeholders, internal and external customers, as it is interfacing directly across the Urenco Group. The projects are much larger than normal for Urenco and will require regular interaction with senior management.
    Urenco Group's Portfolio consists with numerous projects with an estimated total value of €5 billion.
    Individual projects range from €50 million to €1.5 billion.

    What will your day look like?


    • Establish the PMO role and feed into a Centre of Excellence to gain alignment with Project Management Institute (PMI) guidelines, quality standards and company requirements.
    • Seek implementation efficiencies to meet or exceed the financial and schedule expectations established at project initiation.
    • Develop, implement, and govern program management processes, dashboards, templates, policies, and metrics.
    • Monitor compliance with project policies and standards.
    • Manage governance project deliverables and tasks
    • Establish/maintain a fit for purpose/fully compliant program management methodologies and working practices that support the delivery of the projects.
    • Evidence that the program and the projects are incorporating industry best practice in all phases.
    • Evidence that projects are continually leveraging best strategies and synergies across the portfolio.
    • Coach and mentor project management practitioners and share knowledge of best practices.
    • Establish the PMO organization structure and manage project staffing requirements in line with project objectives.
    • Coordinate project deliverables with Project Managers, Analysts, Market Leads, Regional Directors, and support contractors in a direct and indirect reporting structure.
    • Set annual performance targets for direct reports and conduct performance reviews.
    • Oversee Project Managers for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within scope and on budget.
    • Adequate resourcing of the program management and project teams, Evidence that the program and project teams effectively drive value creation and capture and implement learning from experience.
    • Evidence that the key program and project aims are clearly communicated across the organisation number/impact of successful contractor claims against Urenco. Cost and schedule impact of Urenco initiated changes.
    • Across the Program/ Project lifecycle (performance derived from integrated Program reporting).
    • Provide executive leaders with the information needed to assess and decide which proposals have the highest potential value, impact, and strategic alignment.
    • Provide clarity to team with regards to the ultimate goal that teams need to achieve. Cultivate buy-in to help teams commit and get excited about their goals. Measure progress through appropriate qualitative and quantitative measures.

    What do you need to be great at this role


    • Educated to Degree level a relevant discipline.
    • Post graduate degree (e.g. MBA or equivalent construction law).
    • Project Management Qualification / Accreditation such as APM, or PMI.
    • Min 5 years' experience of delivering capex projects, at individual project as well at program or portfolio level, leading multiple project teams and engaging with multiple stakeholders.
    • Direct responsibility for planning, organizing and the direction of the organizations project management office and programs.
    • Demonstrable experience across the entire project lifecycle, from concept development to hand-over.
    • Min 5 years managing multi-cultural teams.
    • Demonstrable success in project and project portfolio delivery in multiple industries.
