    is pleased to be assisting a successful DC based nonprofit with its search for a Director of Development with 6+ years of experience and a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising to join their organization and support the successful execution of a multi-million-dollar fundraising plan.

    The Director of Development will build upon the strategy and execution of the sponsorship opportunities across scholarships, programs and events, research and policy and general operations and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of strategic partners including Fortune 500 companies and foundations, leading and maintaining a strategic framework for donor recognition and stewardship, providing support to increase online fundraising, major/high net worth donors, partnerships/sponsorships and grants and executing strategy for a robust pipeline of new funder prospects.

    Additionally, the Director of Development will support the day-to-day operations of the Development Department.

    This includes supervising full-time staff members in support of annual fundraising goals, serving as the liaison between Development and other departments to ensure seamless and inclusive grants management and driving collaboration with Applied Research, Innovations, Scholarships, and Marketing & Communications teams to develop strategy for funder alignment with departmental goals.

    The Director of Development will also be responsible for grant proposals and reports.

    This includes crafting grant proposals that represent the mission and values of the organization, collaborating across departments to successfully shepherd reports and new grant opportunities and support development team members towards successfully completing grants and reports.

    Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, 6+ years of related work experience, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, a high degree of professionalism, a thoughtful approach to managing and completing complex tasks and the ability to lead others.

    The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing strategic relationships with corporate, foundation, and/or individual donors. All applicants must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time.
    Salary is $72K-$108K, commensurate with experience.
