    Assistant Produce Manager Position at [Company Name]


    As an Assistant Produce Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Produce Manager in ensuring smooth operations in the Produce department. Your responsibilities will include assisting with training, supervising, and enforcing company policies and procedures. In the absence of the manager, you will take charge of tasks such as ordering, scheduling, and overall department operation.


    JOB DUTIES
    • Responsible for overall Produce department operation in the absence of the manager.
    • Work alongside the Produce Manager to supervise and guide produce clerks.
    • Prepare the department for business according to standards and help achieve operational goals.
    • Provide customer service by offering suggestions, assisting with inquiries, and exceeding customer expectations.
    • Maintain attractive product displays and price products accordingly.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies by department staff.
    • Manage produce receipt, weight, and inventory control.
    • Perform regular inspections to uphold company standards.
    • Assist in personnel training and handle routine department functions.
    • Create work schedules based on sales projections and workload.
    • Maintain cleanliness in the work area and equipment.
    • Promote safety in the department and enforce safety protocols.

    Secondary Job Duties:
    • Assist with price checks for customers.
    • Analyze data to plan and identify issues.
    • Ensure accurate product labeling and pricing.
    • Monitor staff adherence to dress code standards.
    • Notify management of any issues like theft or property defacement.
    • Utilize supplies efficiently and reduce waste.
    • Perform other tasks assigned by management.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum age of 18.
    • Previous customer service experience preferred.
    • Proficient knowledge of produce items.

    Physical Demands:
    • Occasionally: Sitting, climbing (up to 6 feet), balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

    • Continuously: Standing, walking, manual dexterity, talking, seeing, hearing, and smelling.

    Safety Risk Factors:
    • Occasionally: Loud noise, slippery surfaces, hazardous equipment, skin irritants, dust, fumes, and sprays.
    • Frequently: Twisting movements and contact with sharp objects.
