    Position Summary
    The Clinical Nurse Coordinator works as part of our Breast Health Center team to coordinate care of patients through the continuum of care, from time of abnormal imaging through initiation of treatment. This position serves as a clinical resource in the Breast Health Center, which is a designated Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, an accolade awarded to breast imaging centers that achieve excellence through accreditation in mammography, breast ultrasound and stereotactic breast biopsy.

    As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will be part of a team of nurses, radiologists, and technologists who provide advanced, high-quality care to patients with breast problems, both benign and malignant. The position provides direct clinical support as well as phone support to a high-volume Breast Imaging practice that is part of a multidisciplinary Breast Center.

    Job Description

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities
    • Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; completes health history and physical examination on patients; conveys findings to physician.
    • Coordinates patient care, orders diagnostic tests, conveys findings to physician, attends inpatient rounds, coordinates patient appointments and assists with referrals to outside sources.
    • Assists physician and provides support with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
    • Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties, including compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards and quality assurance.
    • Acts as liaison and team leader by facilitating communication and coordination of care between patients, families and health team members; explains routines and procedures to patients and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • 3+ years of experience.
    • Working knowledge of general nursing theory and practice with ability to recognize and interpret symptoms/conditions and ability to function in new and emergent situations.
    • Remains consistent with current practice in specialty.
    • ACLS preferred.
    • Working knowledge of database management and spreadsheet software.
    • Working knowledge of techniques and methodologies used in developing, coordinating and managing clinical research projects.
    Required Qualifications
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with two years of nursing experience.
    • Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act.
    • Basic Life Support Certification or obtains certification within one month of employment. Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.

    Salary Range
    $59, $103,600.00 / Annually

    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
