    Description


    North Homes Children and Family Services (NHCFS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Visitation Monitor to join our Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange (SVSE) team in Bemidji, MN.

    The Visitation Monitor will be responsible for overseeing and facilitating visits and exchanges between children and non-custodial parents in a safe and supportive environment.


    Job Duties Include:
    Monitor visits and exchanges between the visiting parent(s) and the child(ren)

    Ensure the safety of the child(ren) at all timesReport any alleged or suspected child abuse and/or neglect in accordance with mandated reporting requirements Remain a neutral third party between both parents and provide a non-biased and accurate description of the visitAbility to intervene or end visits if the parent is not following program rules and expectationsComplete visit documentation for services provided and submit within expected timeframeComplete face-to-face or phone check-ins with family in their home, community, or school as scheduledCommunicate any concerns with the Visitation Coordinator and Program SupervisorMaintain building security and cleanlinessFollow all program and agency policies and proceduresComplete assigned trainings that are required for the position and agencyAttend and participate in consultation, program, and agency staff meetings Batterer's Intervention Program (BIP) Facilitator Provide psychoeducation group weeklyProvide monthly BIP orientation for new clientsAttend BIP Facilitator meetings monthly Other duties as assigned RequirementsTo be employed as a SVSE Visitation Monitor, an individual must meet all the qualifications:


    Minimum Qualifications:
    At least 21 years old and have a valid driver's licenseHigh School diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in human services or related field is preferredExperience working with children and/or families, human services, child protection, or related systems is preferredAbility to pass a DHS background study and meet applicable requirements and regulationsFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays Necessary Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:Strong oral and written communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills Working knowledge of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, trauma, substance use disorders, and mental health Ability to remain non-judgmental in regards to lifestyle, culture, race and/or economic statusAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationshipsAbility to maintain confidentiality Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook EmailAbility to sit or stand for long periods at a time and work in a variety of settings, including indoors and outdoors
