    HSE Delivery Manager (Group Projects) .

    Based at our Capenhurst site location, you'll be beporting to the Senior HSE Manager, this role will design and establish the provision of services to the delivery arm of Group Projects at the right quality and the right time through managing a team of Specialists.

    This requires working collaboratively with the Project HSE Managers across all Urenco production facilities to determine the requirements of the projects, to generate and maintain a cohesive plan for deployment of resources and to manage the quality of service.


    The role is pivotal in setting objectives and supporting delivery against the HSE Group Projects strategy ensuring compliance across projects within the Group function arm of the HSE organisation.

    This role will manage a team of specialists and will be required to design and ensure a framework of processes and competencies are available to HSE Project based teams.

    The role will create cohesion across the projects and work with the HSE Managers to ensure the framework is embedded and fit for purpose ensuring successful delivery of Projects across four countries.


    The primary purpose of the Delivery Manager's job is to act as the work control manager for the services delivered by the team and ensure that the competency framework for the team is developed and managed.

    It provides leadership especially in terms of customer focus and associated behaviours


    The HSE Delivery Manager is accountable for providing resources to facilitate HSE management and legislative compliance for assigned projects or programs and will be accountable for the development, alignment and maintenance of HSE management processes and procedures at the assigned geographical location of the project.

    What will your day look like?


    • Actively promote a pro-active safety culture, and be a role model, throughout the project lifecycle and across the Group
    • Ensuring HSE objectives are fully embedded into Group Project activities
    • Driving HSE compliance and providing high quality specialist support and advice on HSE risks
    Provides pragmatic and specialist advice, guidance and support to The Group Project teams on:


    • Health and Safety
    • Health and Well being
    • Environmental Protection
    • Quality Management systems and Quaility Assurance
    • Organisational Learning and Quality Improvement
    • Aligning project teams with Urenco strategies
    • To establish a process framework to ensure compliance at Project HSE level. Leading in the implementation of a customer focused behavioural model which ensure consistency where possible and compliance across projects within four countries.
    • Provide leadership to the department and line management
    • of a subset team as identified on the organisational charts.
    • Member of the HSE leadership team to provide leadership[ to the department and line management of a subset of the team as defined on the organisational charts
    • Act on behalf of the Senior HSE Manager in their absence
    What do you need to be great at this role?


    • Degree level educated or equivalent experience
    • Relevant experience of management in a highly regulated industry
    • Relevant Health and Safety Qualification such as NEBOSH Certificate
    • Relevant environmental qualification such as NEBOSH Environmental Awareness at Work or IOSH Environment for business
    • Ability to analyse project and organisational requirements and critical success factors and translate these into bespoke HSE delivery strategies
    • Demonstrate experience of developing and implementing HSE improvement programs.
    • Experience of and be skilled in managing ambiguity and being confident to take accountability for supporting the delivery of incident and injury free projects for the business.
    • Experience of managing HSE activities within complex multi stakeholder contractual relationships and leveraging those relationships to improve safety performance.
    • Solid knowledge of best practices in HSE and legislative requirements
    • Demonstrable ability in collaborating with high performing professionals, communicating strategy and working with teams accountable for delivery
    • Ability to build constructive and effective relationships with multi- national internal and external stakeholders
    • Strong knowledge of the EPCM contractor approaches HSE implementation and practices
    • Excellent relationship management, communication and influencing skills, including conflict avoidance at leadership level.
    • Pragmatic, growth mindset individual with well-developed problem solving mentality strategic thinker.
    • Experience of working with operational leadership teams and leading teams.
    • Broad knowledge on the range HSE subjects.
    • Ability to work with all levels of the organisation and communicate appropriately on HSE issues.
    • Delivery of services.
    • Team leadership and management skills, including motivating and coaching teams
    • Understanding of the regulatory landscapes, and experience in managing regulators
    • Strong analytic skills to develop and interpret metrics to analyse trends and identify and plan improvements
    • Demonstrable commercial management skills
