    Summary:

    The Training Specialist is primarily responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining site training initiatives, and improving the overall training program to ensure we are compliant with all training policies, procedures and regulations. This role will support and drive high impact training projects and facilitate other training requests and activities, as assigned.

    The Training Specialist will collaborate with subject matter experts to develop learning solutions; develop, implement and maintain training tools and materials (curricula, OJTs, ILCs, etc.); deliver training; ensure site compliance with Quality Standards and other regulations; provide direction and support for site GMP training processes; roll-out specific site and corporate training initiatives; effectively work with onsite and remote customers; support internal, regulatory and customer audits; and produce on-time, compliant business results through strong partnerships with other site functions and team members.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop/deliver site-wide and department-specific functional training, GMP training, and New Hire Orientation.
    • Partner with other Training Specialists, Subject Matter Experts and site resources to develop, improve, implement and maintain training materials and tools (curricula, OJTs, ILCs, assessments, evaluations, etc.).
    • Ensure site compliance with Quality Standards and regulations.
    • Support internal, regulatory, and customer audits.
    • Participate on cross-functional teams to continuously review and improve training system SOPs, processes and programs.
    • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of qualified trainers and the overall trainer qualification program.
    • Provide customer support for training issues and work with Training Department or IT to escalate.
    • Help to facilitate communication across departments, serve as a liaison between project participants and other team members, and partner with Training staff and other departments to ensure timely completion of assigned outcomes.
    • Help ensure team deliverables meet assigned deadlines and proactively communicate any roadblocks or potential delays.
    • Participate in laboratory training tracking improvement project, including identifying, sorting and filing important documentation, setting up meetings and all associated logistics, preparing and distributing reports and forms, and assisting with the facilitation of project meetings and other communication.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree, or commensurate experience plus 2+ years related experience in developing and delivering training to a diverse audience using adult learning principles. Master's degree in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, learning systems, education, or related field preferred.
    • 3+ years' experience in Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or similar regulated industry.
    • 2+ years' experience actively working in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, learning technology or related field.
    • Experience using a Learning Management System. Plateau experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of GMP requirements, and familiarity with standard operating procedures.
    • Training and meeting facilitation experience required. Experience with project management preferred.
    • Highly literate with technology; quickly learns new applications and tools.
    • High proficiency in MS Office applications; mastery of Excel and pivot tables preferred.
    • Use of e-learning authoring tools (especially Articulate 360, Storyline, or Presenter) preferred.
    • Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; able to deliver clear, concise information to team and stakeholders.
    • Must be able to follow written and verbal directions and properly handle confidential documents.
    • Proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization.
    • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
    • Must have vigilant attention to detail and proactively address or escalate issues and concerns.
    • Must be self-motivated and actively seek to attain or learn new responsibilities.
    • Must have the ability to simultaneously multi-task across multiple functions and handle multiple competing priorities, including performing site and functional responsibilities, responding to frequent e-mail and phone communications, and attending multiple meetings and conference calls.
    • Ability to be flexible, resilient, and adaptable to changing priorities in a fast paced, high pressure environment. Must have the ability to work effectively under strict production, time and performance deadlines.
