- Design and draw preliminary sketches and detailed drawings; using CAD software.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical information concerning manufacturing techniques, equipment, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations.
- Evaluate product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine design feasibility.
- Recommend modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Analyze test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Partner with Project Engineers and Technicians to implement operating procedures, provide technical feedback, and prepare design modifications.
- Associates degree in Engineering, Bachelors degree preferred
- Minimum of five years of design engineering experience; plastics or molding experience preferred
- Proficiency using 3D modeling software; Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor preferred
- Knowledge and demonstrated use of related computer software, i.e.: SAP, MS Word and Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to operate as an effective subject matter expert and resource for peers, management, customers, and vendors
