    The Transport Registered Nurse provides care to critically ill and/or injured patients in the transport environment via helicopter, airplane and ground ambulance.

    Collaborates and coordinates patient care with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers both internally and externally.


    GENERAL DUTIES

    • Patient Care Quality:
    • Assesses, plans and implements patient care following clinical protocols in a manner that affords the greatest benefit. Use excellent verbal and written communication skills to plan and implement patient care while working with multi-disciplinary services and other health care providers.
    • Patient Safety:
    • Actively works to ensure patients remain safe during the transitions of care and during transport.
    • Operational Safety:
    • Effectively functions as a team member adhering to safety practices and fostering a safe environment with other team members.
    • Personal Accountability:
    • Takes responsibility for personal behaviors ensuring individual actions support teamwork and a positive work environment. Participates in continuing education programs. Adheres to and supports program safety standards.
    • Customer Service:
    • Demonstrates dedication to customer service through positive personal interactions with internal and external customers.
    • Business Development:
    • Collaborates with and supports the leadership team in developing business strategies to grow the service lines and gain operational efficiencies.

    EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3 years of experience Critical Care Nursing / Paramedic / Emergency Transport

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

    • Required: Bachelor's Degree Nursing

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

    • Current RN licensure or ability to acquire a license in the state of Louisiana. Current
    passport and unrestricted driver's license. BLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC are all required for flight status.


    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Emotional stability to function effectively in unpredictable situations.
    • Problem solving skills and ability to exercise independent judgment and seek guidance when appropriate.
    • Good keyboarding skills and computer competency.
    • If hired for a position that requires being on-call, able to respond in no more than 30 minutes.
