    Summary

    The Emergency Management Senior Consultant I is responsible for leading client interactions and advising company and clients with special projects within their scope as a subject matter expert.

    An Emergency Management Senior Consultant I provides advanced consulting services, leads a small group of consultants, and provides advice and analytical services to private businesses and government agencies on how to deal with emergency situations or any emergency management functions or disciplines.

    Each Consultant will have a specific work portfolio based on skills sets and needs. The position will be guided in all activities by ACDC's Corporate Values Platform.

    Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

    Support and assist in leading all corporate and program operations related to the (add division here) Division on all division projects in addition to general emergency management services as needed.

    Makes decisions on assigned portions of projects providing technical and subject matter expertise to clients.

    Provide support with all strategic and business plans to ensure they are followed in relation to project and division work.

    Manage/lead critical portions of mid-sized projects and ensure all aspects of a project are completed as outlined in the contract scope of work and timeline.

    Lead meetings and briefings with clients, prepare and facilitate budgets, proposals, client presentations, develop materials and reporting as needed.

    When requested, assist Division Leadership with business development tasks such as responding to requests for proposals and building relationships with external partners based on subject-matter expertise.

    Participate in business development opportunities, speaking engagements/presentations, conferences and networking events as needed.
    Develop state and local response and pre- and post-disaster recovery plans, procedures, checklists, and guidance documents.
    Maintain currency of and compliance with applicable state and federal policies, procedures, and guidance documents for applicable roles.
    Provide response and recovery related training to state and local government clients.

    Conduct needs assessment and gap analysis as it relates to response and recovery planning, the client's emergency operations plan, and mitigation planning (where applicable).

    Identifypotential impacts/implications of policy changes to Federal/State/local programs and provide briefings as required
    Perform quality control review procedures over work performed by other consultants and over client-provided documents as requested.
    Serve in a response capacity in a state or local Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as needed.

    During a disaster, you may be called into the field to support or co-lead relief efforts or assist with organizing responses to support advanced roles in emergency situations and/or activations.

    Gain experience, train for, and become knowledgeable in all areas of Emergency Management.
    Maintain/pursue ongoing knowledge, certifications, and subject matter expertise as appropriate.
    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Proven record of accomplishment with project management best practices.
    Ability to train others and lead projects and/or programs with senior leadership oversight.
    Ability to create and maintain relationships with a variety of public and private sector clients.
    Excellent critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.

    Experience/Education Required:


    5-7+ years' advanced or subject matter expert-level knowledge/experience in various emergency management functions with a focus on your current division.

    5+ years (advanced level) direct customer service and consulting experience including prospective and current client engagement.
    5+ years of direct project management experience including a demonstrated lead of project deliverables, adherence to project deadlines and budget, and facilitating client/stakeholder engagements
    Bachelor's degree in emergency management, public safety, or a related field


    Equivalency:

    Professional experience beyond minimum requirements, in a related field may substitute the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

    5+ years (advanced to subject matter expert level) knowledge and/or experience in one Emergency Management Disciplines.
    3+ years (intermediate to advanced level) knowledge and/or experience in two or more Emergency Management Disciplines.
    3+ years (intermediate level) knowledge of recovery and response programs including FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Public Assistance.

    Knowledge of full scope Emergency Management protocols and familiarity with state and local plans, agencies, and funding sources is necessary.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
    Experience and Education Preferred

    Applicable Certifications:
    Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
    Professional Project Management Certification (PMP)
    Business development experience.
    Proficient with Salesforce.
    Supervisory Responsibilities
    The Senior Consultant I may have lead responsibilities within projects, but no direct reports.
    Expected Hours of Work
    Schedule may vary and require work on evenings and weekends and dependability and punctuality are paramount.
    Travel Requirements
    Up to 50% travel is expected for this position.
    Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for prolonged periods of time.
    Physical Demands
    Mobility required on-site with clients.
    Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
    Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time as needed.
    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.
    Work Environment

    Emergency management consultants may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

    Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.

    All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.

    If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.

    Additional Qualifications
    Must be 18 years of age or older.
    Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
