    Research Associate Position at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA)

    Salary Range: USD $26.48 to USD $53.40 per hour

    About the Company: The UCLA Labor Occupational Safety and Health (LOSH) Program is focused on enhancing worker health, safety, and overall well-being. LOSH provides top-notch training, research, and policy analysis to empower workers and their organizations to advocate for better working conditions.

    Position Overview: As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for investigating worker safety, health, and employment issues in California, with a specific emphasis on vulnerable groups like low-wage, immigrant, and non-English-speaking workers in high-risk industries. Your key tasks will include conducting research activities, collaborating with the LOSH Research Analyst and community partners, data collection and analysis, preparing reports, and representing LOSH in various professional forums.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Research on worker safety, health, and employment issues
    • Collaborate with labor and community partners
    • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data
    • Present findings to different audiences
    • Contribute to reports, publications, and grant proposals

    Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of occupational safety and health, labor movement, and action research
    • Experience in surveys, interviews, and focus groups
    • Data management and analysis skills
    • Ability to work with diverse partners
    • Project planning and management skills
    • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish

    Required Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
    • Master's Degree in Public Health or related field (preferred)

    Special Employment Conditions:
    • Completion of a background check

    Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
