    Description

    Project Accountant

    We are seeking an entry-level Project Accountant to join our Accounting team in the New York City metro area. The Project Accountant is responsible for verifying employees' chargeable time and expenses, establishing project budgets, and ensuring project data is current and correct.

    Our company has over 137 years of experience providing full-service infrastructure engineering solutions to clients across the country and globally.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare invoice submissions with documentation and backup for government and private clients.
    • Maintain complete and accurate project folders with related documents.
    • Enter budget changes and variance adjustments into our reporting system.
    • Coordinate billing procedures with branch offices.
    • Respond to client requests for supplemental reports or detailed backup documentation.
    • Communicate with project managers regarding financial project status, contract modifications, and client invoicing requirements.
    • Examine unbilled costs and unpaid invoices monthly to maximize billing and collection potential.
    • Review sub-consultant invoice submissions for compliance with contract provisions and budgetary limits.
    • Perform additional responsibilities as required by project and company needs.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, or Business Administration.
    • Zero to two years of relevant experience in accounting with a focus on billing and contract interpretation.
    • Deltek Vision experience preferred.
    • Ability to prioritize, organize work flow, and manage competing demands.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Capable self-leadership with attention to detail and ability to meet monthly billing deadlines.
    • Professional attitude and high level of integrity.

    Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
