How You Will Make An Impact

· Perform routine tasks, tests, and computations associated with construction materials testing and field observations under the supervision of the Project Engineer/Project Manager. This will include sampling and testing of concrete, soils, asphalt, and other construction materials on construction projects. 

· Complete and submit accurate Daily Field Reports.

· Assist engineering staff with field monitoring activities.

· Independently operate relevant testing/monitoring equipment.

· Perform other tasks, as necessary. 

Requirements

· Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. 

· Willingness and ability to review activities on construction sites

· Demonstrate ability to make preliminary evaluations and provide opinions (cause and corrective action) on tasks/problems to NTH's Project Engineer and/or Project Manager

· Ability to learn to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, MDOT requirements, and other construction documents 

· Must have strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, team-oriented approach to problem-solving, and have strong interpersonal skills for contact with clients and fellow engineers/technicians 

· Accuracy, dependability, and strong organizational skills

· Exceptional time management skills, ability to manage multiple assignments at any given time, and have ability to work in a team environment

· Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

· Must hold a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to and conduct field work at job sites/offices in Michigan. 

· Must be authorized to work full-time in the U.S.A. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired are required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

· Certifications that are considered a plus:

•  ACI/MCA Concrete Testing Technician Level I or above
•  MDOT Density Technology Certification
•  Aggregate Sampling Certification
•  HMA Sampling for Local Agencies Certification

· One or more years of field experience in concrete or soils is considered a plus
