    The Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC is seeking a skilled Director of Engagement to join the Programming and Performance team. This newly created role will curate, produce, and manage artistic and civic programming, fostering a deeper relationship between the Folger and the community. The Director of Engagement will collaborate with various departments and community partners to create a tailored engagement model aligned with the institution's mission, vision, and DEIA values. They will offer an innovative vision for community engagement and possess extensive experience in developing strategic programs. This role will centralize past community engagement efforts, define ways to amplify programming, and guide internal teams to improve long-term engagement with local communities. The Director of Engagement will build partnerships, establish the Folger as a welcoming place for all, and enhance community life through the arts and humanities. As connectors, doers and believers in radical hospitality, they will prioritize equitable and inclusive engagement opportunities, striving to make the Folger Shakespeare Library and its resources a gathering place for diverse individuals to connect in their own way.
