    A Little More About What You Will be Doing

    The Cardiac Sonographer Level I, supports patient care by performing echocardiogram procedures as directed by the physician. Shows skill with the use of ultrasound equipment and associated procedures. This position performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running efficiently.

    • Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request
    • Performs a range of technical procedures that will require independent judgment for diagnosis
    • Appropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician
    • Ability to review a physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed
    • Acts as a role model in providing care; assists in precepting Cardio Sonographers I
    • Retrieves studies from PACS for review
    • Prepares patients for the study

    Experience

    • Minimum of 1 years experience performing echocardiographic studies preferred

    Licenses/Certification

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
    • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) is preferred
