Job DescriptionSalary: $45-50 per hour DOEGeneral Position Summary:
Responsible for installation and maintenance of electrical systems at all facilities for the Port of Morrow.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
· Installation of electrical systems 4160v and below
· Maintain and repair electrical systems 4160v and below.
Secondary Functions:
· Read blueprints, shop drawings, installation guides, manuals.
· Order material for projects and repairs.
· Develop and execute preventative maintenance tasks.
Supervisory Responsibility:
· Journeymen may have Apprentice's assigned to them.
Specific Job Skills:
· Ability to troubleshoot.
Ability to install and maintain motors, Lighting fixtures, Generators, Circuit Breakers and Transformers.
· Knowledge of electrical systems including planning additions or modifications on secondary circuits.
· Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
· Ability to install grounding leads.
· Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work.
· Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position.
· Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment and appliances.
· Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Highschool diploma or GED
· 4 years of experience directly related to the essential functions and responsibilities specified.
· Oregon General Journeyman License (Preferred)
· Oregon Limited Plant Manufacturing
Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
Preferred Skills
· PLC's
· VFD's
· SCADA systems
Job Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in both outside and inside conditions. The work can be dirty and strenuous, with considerable standing, bending and reaching. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Job may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during peak periods. Employee will face numerous interruptions throughout the day.
