Position Overview:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Xero Shoes, your role is crucial in creating and maintaining software solutions that drive our operations, including e-commerce platforms and internal systems. You will collaborate closely with diverse teams to grasp business needs, design efficient software solutions, and implement best practices to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our systems.

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and upkeep high-quality software solutions aligned with business goals and technical requirements.
Show strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively within constraints, delivering top-notch software solutions promptly.

Prioritize a user-centered approach to software development, emphasizing user experience and product quality to exceed customer expectations.
Work with cross-functional teams to collect data, refine designs, and make enhancements that boost usability, functionality, and overall satisfaction.
Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and timelines while managing competing priorities and deadlines efficiently.
Create scalable and sturdy systems capable of accommodating future business growth and evolution.
Write clean, efficient, and sustainable code following best practices and coding standards.
Conduct code reviews, offer constructive feedback, and mentor junior team members to nurture a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Identify and resolve technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and areas for optimization within existing systems.
Keep updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, integrating new ideas and methodologies to drive innovation.
Deploy and oversee software applications in production environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security.
Engage in Agile/Scrum practices like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to monitor progress, identify obstacles, and foster continuous improvement.
Support troubleshooting endeavors and promptly address technical issues to minimize disruption to business operations.
Proactively pinpoint and tackle potential roadblocks or bottlenecks, utilizing resources effectively to optimize productivity and enhance project success.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of professional experience in software development.
Proficiency in programming languages like PHP, Python, or Java, coupled with experience in frameworks such as React, Angular, or
Solid grasp of database systems (SQL and NoSQL), RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Firm understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, Agile/Scrum practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
Keen learner committed to staying abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback for their professional growth.
Proficient core skills requiring minimal direction.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Passion for learning and professional advancement, with an eager attitude towards exploring new technologies and expanding your skill set.

Experience in one or more of the following is a plus:

Infrastructure design and implementation
Cloud administration
Database design and administration
Instrumentation and monitoring
Service design and development
Data engineering architecture

Job Type: Full-time role, 40 hours per week

Pay: The annual salary for this role ranges from $125,000 to $160,000, depending on experience. This estimate considers employee qualifications, operational needs, and other factors in line with Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule. Additional rewards may include bonuses and incentives.
