    One of Portland's largest and most reputable Manufacturing organizations seeks a proven Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join its team. This is a newly created role in the company that will be responsible for building from the ground up a team of 10 Manufacturers working across several global manufacturing sites (mostly North America). The focus of the role will be to assess and implement manufacturing process efficiency across several Foundry and Fabrication sites across North America. This role will involve travel up to 25% specifically to develop the manufacturing engineers at these various locations. This would be a hybrid role with the ability to work from home most Mondays and Fridays.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Engineered Improvements: Develop, test, implement, and verify process improvements and technology upgrades which drive efficient labor and facility utilization. Actively seek innovative solutions to enhance operational by reducing work content and process cost.
    • Process Optimization Leadership: Provide leadership in simplifying operations through effective product, process, equipment, and workflow optimization. Systematically reduce process variation, demonstrating leadership in operational excellence.
    • Team Leadership: Prioritize and focus team efforts towards areas with greatest impact. Foster a collaborative, innovative, and effective work environment.
    • Cost Analysis and Strategy: Maintain a keen awareness of operations costs by analyzing data sources as well as first hand observations and reviews. Develop strategies and actions to improve operational costs while classifying costs into addressable causes.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
    • 10 plus years experience in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred
    • Proven leadership skills with a focus on collaborative teamwork at all levels.
    • Proficiency in industrial engineering principles and operational optimization.
    • Strong analytical and systematic problem-solving skills used to create and evaluate options and choose the best solution.
    • Ability to travel up to 25% on annual basis
    • Experience in Metals Manufacturing Required (foundry operations a plus).
